How to convert a 202 to Delco
Re: How to convert a 202 to Delco
Hi im just new to the forum but it seems to be the place for me.
I have an ITB setup for my 202 12 port.
Can i and would you recomend the use of delco ECU.
My ITb's use a VN tps and i am pretty good at wiring and electrical.
It also uses vn fuel injectors.
Converting 202 dizzy to camira module or crank angle might be the only part i would have to work out.
Also can the ecu be tuned on tps only or should i put a plenum over the throttles with a MAF, for better tuning. (Although it looks cooler with the 3 filters only)
I have put premade efi looms into my holden wb LS1. Torana LH rb30 in the past so with a little help i should be able to make this work.
Any feedback would be great.
Matt

Re: How to convert a 202 to Delco
Welcome
At the moment 12P does not support alpha-n (or TPS as the load instead of MAP), with ITBs it can be very difficult to use a MAP sensor. It is on the list of possible additions but due to a lack of RAM in the ECU may not be possible.

Re: How to convert a 202 to Delco
if you can tee vacuam off each inlet after the TB and spend the time making a vacum plenum out of varying sizes of pipe to fine tune your map signal youll be away
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem
Re: How to convert a 202 to Delco
Does the VN TPS have a linear range for alpha-n to work on other type ECU?
If i was to install a plenum and put a MAF on it would it work That way?

Any plenum would defeat the itb setup ... I'd either do what delcowizzid said (easiest option) or go for another ECM
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

I do like the vac tank idea, i have a vac point on each TB that will do fine for this job
I'm just tying to cover every angle.

you should be fine just run all 6 into 1 half inch pipe for a start and shorten the pipe with it running untill you start to see pressure pulses in the map trace in the ecu.sort of like the fuel rail but for vacuam LOL

This is the manifold in question.
The holes for vac can be seen, so if i do this 1/2 inch tube idea and until shows on map, that is right length for use to map or then the tank is fitted to the vac tube then the map?

The next 12P release will have a sort of Alpha-N mode. Its as good as I can do without RAM and almost full calibration area. It will have the option to use the default MAP which is calculated from RPM and TPS. Something to play with if nothing else, might not work well enough still and require a proper lookup.

Re: How to convert a 202 to Delco
looking at that i would go out the first hole with 1/2 inch or maybe 10mm into a 90* bend straight to the next location in same size fit a tee then to next another tee and off to map sensor
