Memcal resistor chips

Post by v8-tuning »

Does anyone know if you can actually
purchase v8 resistor chips anywhere?
I have been converting v6 memcals but have been thinking
about a neater approach instead.

Don't you solder in a resistor though? that's what im getting at.
Got a few 4cyl memcals too ,not sure how to mod those.

see here http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic. ... t=10#p6850

cut the 15k resistor pin on a v6 memcal and its then a V8 ... if you ever want to replace it just solder the cut.

Why does the pic show a cut leg and 7.5k resistor in the link then ?
Even says in the post v6 to v8 7.5k resistor and the pic is edited to show the location.
So what your saying is you don't need to solder in a 7.5k resistor?
What about 4cyl? Anyone show how they are done in a pic?

The resistor in the factory v8 is present in the factory v6 so you dont add it.

Compare too and from in the above link. Add a resistor if you need too or cut if whats there if you cant reuse it or if part needs to be gone.

for the record need to keep the knock board in mind too. Part no 1Fxxxx for v8 tunes that use it, or disable knock retard if you dont have the right hardware and make sure the spark is safe and dont run shitter fuel than it was tuned/tested with.
