Re: VT S1 LS1 track car
that looks like a REALLY REALLY good spot to test the track car man

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: VT S1 LS1 track car
Xmas, New year, back to work, a week of 40c + days......I need holidays again!
As usual you have time off and places are shut for the parts you need to get the VT track ready.
After a month of searching and decisions on what rotors to buy..ie buy cheapies first or pay the extra now and have them last longer.
A bit of luck was on my side as I found out that a mate bought into his own brake business and looked after me with these DBA T3 rotors and QFM track pads. 343mm rotors with 4 pot Harrops these bastards better stop well
There is Sweet FA room left under the bonnet to fit a 3lt catch can and the only place was behind the LH strut tower.
Also fitted adjustable caster bushes (nolathane) to it just before xmas.
Paper work for CAMS and PIARC have been filled out for weeks and I STILL haven't pulled my finger out to mail them off.
Thought I would fire up the car again today and lucky I did too.
I got the car warm and held it at a few revs and shut it off, had a cuppa and came back to see coolant under the car.
Those stupid squeeze clamps on the w/pump bypass hoses weren't sealing too good and just sprayed coolant everywhere.
So I have replaced ALL the clamps with proper worm drive clamps.
Just about ready to go
Looks like early March at Sandown (I think) will be its first outing.
Phillip Island in early feb WAS going to be its first but me
(end of this month), my mums b-day,my bro's 3rd wedding (idiot) and then my 2 bro's 50ths(twins)
got in the way.
Laterz

NICE WORK, coming along nicely!
Can't wait to hear all about it!
Those bloody springs clamps if left in wrong position can be a PITA to get at to remove!

Re: VT S1 LS1 track car
Forgot to mention back in Feb last year I scored these wheel alignment ramps for $450 off ebay, the seller was trying to reneg on the sale because other people after the sale offered him MORE money for them including interstaters willing to pay more and having them transported to god knows where.
He tried stuffing me around with pick up times etc etc and then I ended up speaking to his mrs who was great and she apologised for his attitude.
Luckily the ramps pivot in the centre with 2 air bags at the end of the ramps.
If it was a solid ramp,my garage door height would have stopped the car fitting in.
Makes it great for working on,best 4fitty I spent, although my 1 1/2 car garage has shrunk

NICE pick up the metal in it alone would be worth more than 450!

Re: VT S1 LS1 track car
Yeah it all comes a part and it sure was a heavy MOFO.I was going to pick it up with my 6x4 but remembered one of my mates has a 4 ton van/truck and used that.
Thank god I did.
The plates are VANE so I know the quality is there.
Also good for hiding crap under the ramps.

Re: VT S1 LS1 track car
I used to crawl under cars on wheel stands and have recently moved to front ramps and rear wheel stands to get the whole car up high, definitely makes it so much nicer to work on!!
your brakes look sweet as, im sure they will be mint!
now go and post your bloody forms you slacka!

Re: VT S1 LS1 track car
Like the ramps.
That wouldn't be a red vane air fuel ratio meter in front of the ramps would it.

Don't make excuses. Make more horsepower.
