Re: Vlad's VP executive (Now VR)
pretty sure theres 5/16 and the other one is either 3/8 or 1/2 ... memory is very sketchy though

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

the little ones are 5mm ID, large ones not sure? I can check next time I look at them.
they are fuel rated hoses from Mckay.

oh 5mm might be even smaller then like vacuum hose or something.

yep, same size as the vac hoses.
The big one 5/8 or bigger? I have to check. The hose I used was a real tight fit and I recall it was 5/8 so a slightly larger size in metric is what I think it will be. 16 or 17mm? ID
the filler neck hose is 51mm

Re: Vlad's VP executive (Now VR)
yes the big one is 16mm, I used a 13mm ID based on the original hose size.
holden used a smaller 13 mm ID poly pipe hose and heated and pressed it on. I just looked at some 16mm hose and the OD I reckon is too big to fit through the body opening where they run over the tank as the 13 ID hose even though its smaller than the barb, it just fits with the other 2 X 5mm hoses.

Re: Vlad's VP executive (Now VR)
finally got my NOS backing plates for $20 each. way easier than cleaning the old ones.
Hubs cleaned real well, loctite flange sealer compound on the hub matting surface, loctite the screws and torqued to 130Nm

Re: Vlad's VP executive (Now VR)
Thanks
I do try my best at attention to detail.
next it to buy some control arms with good used joints. I have 3 NOS RHS joints coming from Germany.
I will fit one of those, and try to find one for the other side if not just a used one. Drill the holes to 10mm and fit 3/8 UNF grade 8 with grade 8 steel lock nuts. 10mm hole and 3/8" is 9.4mm (actual bolt measured) so its a good snug fit. It will be heaps stronger than the pissy M8 screws they normally come with.
My other arms, I fitted one central M12 bolt and the 2 outer left as M8, but because the aftermarket joints are a raw cast finish and not flat, I still could slip the joint around even with M12 at 130Nm with a tap of the mallet.
After those are done, the rack will go for reco. I also need to toss the tie rod end nylocks and fit a castellated nut which requires me to drill the hole in the shank for the locking pin.
aftermarket parts are so much hassle some times. They never meet OEM design specs even thought they claim OEM, bringing forth safety issues.

NOS from Germany, I'm guessing used on the Vauxhall Opel equivalent?
