VT BCM Wiring

Post by dooda »

Hi all,

I have just completed a conversion of a vt v6 ecotec into a triton ute - it is all running excellent and haven't had any issues at all

Now to my question lol , i have disable VATS in the PCM for the time being, but i do have the paired/matched bcm available that i want to wire in to give me fan control/engine light and power switch indicator.

My questions are:
1. would anyone have a wiring diagram available for this MID bcm (attatched photo) ? or can just tell me the wires i need for power/earths/data bus/MIL light output etc ?

2. I am using the triton cluster so i would like to just use a couple of LED's for MIL and power indicators - Is the output from BCM to Cluster enough to earth a LED light or is it still a data signal and the cluster switches the lights?

A HUGE thanks for any help you guys can provide me :)

its still a data signal going to the cluster for the check engine light.

ahh bugger - so i cant possibly have a MIL light unless i run the bcm and have the cluster, or obviously run a BCM simulator

I'd still like to run the bcm tucked away purely so I get low speed fan and power indicator lights if anyone can help with wiring

Power/econ indicator is data too

Low speed fan is an actual output from the BCM though!

ahhh cant win lol, ive already got low speed fan connected from pcm but its running flat out due to the nil comms with bcm fault code .

so theres no way possible to have a mil or power light with out cluster or going to a simulator?

thanks

well the ls1 pcm has got a lamp output directly (some USA based cars didnt have a bcm) I always wondered if there was a buried line of code in the v6 pcms that could drive a spare output as a check engine lamp...
but with our current level of knowledge... a cluster or bcm sim is the only way. unles you get a carputer and run tuneprro with an adx on a 7 inch in dash touch screen :geek:
