it's much like the crappy shifting and soft line pressures on GM Auto's which in turn lead to quicker clutch failure, it's all for the end user ride softness! lol

explains why my T5 clutch and brakes last so long haha.

I am either on or off the brake firmly, 100ms gear changes regardless if I hammer it or cruising around town.

The quicker I change gears, the better the T5 feels and responds, I dare say it feels like its lasting longer as of result. nearly 600,000km ahaha

even my last auto with good cooling and tweaked line pressure did 320,000km and was still working ok when i pulled it out. Most usually do the sunshell atleast before that.

got some the other lot of zinc plated and heat treated bits from the platters. The left box contains all the high tensile and spring steel parts that were heat treated to eliminate possible hydrogen enbrittlement.

Got a call saying my sump is ready from plastic bead blasting.
Will be painting that plus the tail shaft in rust bullet over the weekend.

I had a 72 fastback with EFI. The very first generation injectors where like that with crimped hoses.

Its cool that I owned and am an enthusiast for a car that changed fuel management forever. This pic is off Bosch's site and the car and parts on the left are very familiar to me.
