12P - CEL winks once at key-on

12P - CEL winks once at key-on
Just noticed today that when I turn the ign key to "on" the CEL light (yeah, tautology, I know...) goes on-off-on. Is this some kind of feature to identify the 12P firmware? Or do they all do that and I never noticed before?

The flash is confirmation that the ecu has acknowledged a OS/program within the memcal. With a blank memcal there is no flash.
