it can be done, just not with this y pipe, and the headers use a flared joint rather than flange or slip joint so it makes it harder. The y pipe is also too short by a long way to even consider slicing in 2 cats.

If you have VS ecotec pacemakers, its easier as they dont come with y pipe, are a slip joint as well so making something it fairly straight forward.

I suppose even with what I have plus good cat and sports system, this will be heaps better than stock. I don't even know how stock lets the engine run as some of the bends almost shut the pipe closed lol.

having the brackets laser cut now. Getting about 10 made for about $25, sweet!

I found spun magnaflow cats. 2" in/out. 4" diameter, 9" length. That might fit nicely spliced in to the y pipe. 9" length might be just short enough to do it.


What I might do is get the exhaust, stick the stock cat in there for now and then latter mod the y pipe for twins. Still can't find a 2.25" system though ??

you want either TWIN 2.25 or single 2.5
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

so what about the size change going from the y pipe to the catback? 2.25 changing to 2.5?

Anyone ever indexed plugs? Thoughts on that?

I have heard about it, then figured I try to see if its possible, indeed it is when you swap them around to different holes until they index more or less the same.

Is the benefits a myth? and which direction would you go if there is benefits. I figured ground electrode tip pointing towards the exhaust, with the back or the electrode towards the intake since the plugs are biased via their angle in that direction already.

The idea of plug indexing is to avoid shrouding the spark and ensure accurate timing and make the burn take quickly so its as close to ideal as possible. I don't believe you'll see any benefit with an effective modern high energy ignition system and good chambers.

Its not like its going to hurt though, as long as all the plugs are properly sealed and you don't use so many shims to achieve the right angle that it pulls the plug out of the chamber.
