Using Delco computer for other motors

Post by mcqueen motorsport »

Hey guys,

Pretty new to these computers, have heard some awesome things about how tuneable and how versatile they are so it has sparked some interest.

The idea is to try and make one work on a RB series motor out of a nissan skyline.

The reason for this is the price for one, the fact that I can run a MAP sensor setup instead of a MAF.

The biggest issue I think I will run into is setting up the crank angle sensor.

RB motors run a different type, so I'm told, so not sure if it will be possible to set the computer up to run this one.

All other sensors are easily swapped over if need be so not really an issue.

Was looking to use a LS1 computer, but am unsure if its possible to turn off 2 of the extra injector drives and ignition signals.

Sorry if this has been discussed before, and sorry for the lack of knowledge, very new to these, however the time is there and everything else is easily done.

Cheers
Scott

vl400 does have an ignition module in development for rb or any other type of ignition but i dont thinks its ready for release yet.there are other ways around it with other factory modules and a crank trigger setup or cut and weld up a dizzy from a 202 and the original rb dizzy and make a hybrid.
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

Silly me just found another section of the site covering most of what I need to know haha! But yes found that topic, interesting read, first option will be to see if I can make a v6 trigger wheel fit somewhere I think...

Have replied to your email. Depending on your time frame can give it a shot with my module. It will hopefully let you leave the factory CAS setup rather than having to fab up a new trigger, just not sure about the COPs. Will need to confirm the specs on them.

Keep in mind you'll need high impedance injectors too. The nissan auto TPS analog output can be used.
