Re: My Delcoed Rides
good luck fingers crossed for 10's
best thing we ever bought for quick boost changes.we still only running a 7or 9 psi spring 20+psi and you get extra boost response as the gate does see any pressure on it until the tee opens instead of slowly opening as boost builds

Re: My Delcoed Rides
i already have one of them in the car its only on 12 psi though ....
as it turns out i didn't get to run anymore boost anyways!
first run out, i thought it was supposed to be 16psi, but i guess the hillclimb didn't ever have traction so with traction makes more boost ?!?!? anyways, saw 18psi in the logs!
hard as out of the hole, 1.7 60 foot, 7.0 1/8th time then about 3/4 track started missing slightly, ended up passing the line for 11.04 @ 119mph. happy with that for the first run, still got to turn boost up and check fueling etc in the logs.....
got back to the staging lanes and a mate had turned up, so i popped the bonnet for them to check it out and to also check the motor over for oil leaks .............................................
the top of the oil catch can was covered in oil and it had sprayed all over the bonnet..... the only way that would happen is if the crankcase had pressure in it ... so its either head gasket or something worse!
im fairly confident without the miss it probably would have just nudged the 10's, but we'll have to wait longer for an official slip
... anyways will get some time hopefully in the next few days to compression check it and see what the verdict is!

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

bugger time to go back to meth is it handled abuse when you were running it.cant wait for your regular log review ide be interested in intake temp as the altered has no cooler either

Re: My Delcoed Rides
yep absolutely, if you have no traciton and so no load.... your boost will be less. I always see in manual cars, first spins and doesnt make a lot of boost, then 2nd gear get traciton bam... boost comes straight up... load = boost

Re: My Delcoed Rides
no that was running on methanol lol! untake temp reached 110 degrees over the finish line! I know the methanol will have its cooling effect once its injected, but I reckon it can't hurt to have a cooler on the inlet just to keep the inlet temps down, has to help!
it idles and drives fine, I didn't know there was any issues on the return road and back to the staging lanes, only the oil when I popped the bonnet and the miss at 3/4 track.
the funny thing with the issue, is when I crank the car over it kinda sounds like its got a knock then once its running its perfect!
I compression tested all the cylinders, 4 is 20psi less at 130psi, all the rest are 150! and that's cold, so more than likely not a head gasket or piston, but im not quite sure what else it could be so will need to pull it apart to see I guess.
anyways, onto the stuff your all interested in ...

its hard to hear it missing at the end, but you can hear third gear sounds flat and it shakes the gauge panel heaps!

Re: My Delcoed Rides
gee thats a nice odd rpm spike in the middle of third gear... and the boost had noticably dropped off until that point then spiked back up
fuel pressure bit wobbly in third too ! spot on on the wideband tho

Re: My Delcoed Rides
The rpm looks spiky all over. I thought rpm would be a smooth curve except in traction issues like going over bumps and shiny spots on the road.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Re: My Delcoed Rides
That is a strange RPM drop, but the boost is really odd with it never recovering after the 2-3 shift until after the RPM drop.
But, an 11.04
