Hey all,
Have a VS Calais at tafe that has had a 304 conversion but still has the original 4L60E box in it, which is stuffed. The owner wants to change to a hydraulic auto which I'm pretty sure is a T700 (4L60). The car is running a VR V8 auto pcm. Can this be done on the original pcm by changing the calibration? The owner thinks we need to convert to a manual pcm or mask the error codes, but all I can find on here is that possibly we will need to run $12P instead. Any advice would be appreciated, as soon as possible as the car is supposed to be done this week.
Cheers,
Matt

Re: 4L60E to T700 conversion VR V8 Auto PCM
$12P would be the same result as converting it to a manual PCM, which would require re-pinning the wiring or getting a VN-VP loom (or vr manual loom)
probably easiest to leave it as $11 and turn off the auto codes, but then I think you'll need to change the speed sensor on the gearbox to suit VR Auto....

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Could just change the extension housing with the 4l60e and that should give you the correct speed sensor

yes and you also need to get the matching toothed gear that gets pressed onto the output shaft. I have all the bits and have proof of concept (I am putting VR Auto PCM on vn motor and box.) but haven't finished it or run it yet.
