Body deadner removal tips

Post by Gareth »

Hi all,

Has anybody got any tips on remoing body deadner from a VT sedan.

Hammer and chisel has gotten rid of the bulk of it but we are left with a lot of residual mess...

Was hoping to remove only the deadner, not the under coat

Any thoughts would appreaciated

Cheers

thinners works great, acetone works ok. both don't touch the e-coat.

use a proper gas mask with charcoal filter.

get lots of rags to wash the deadened off.

Ive tried a heat gun, did not work very well. The other options sound better.

Yeah dry ice works well.
I used a heat gun on my VT and it worked really well.
When you say deadener do you mean the spray on stuff under the car or the sheeted stuff under the carpet
