This is something that has been changed in the next firmware, the current loggers have hardware that can disconnect itself from the ECU when the voltage drops which normally gives it enough time to close off the log file. Just like a PC, the file system is not happy having the power pulled mid write!

For others reading this, the problem only occurs on '808s powered by the ECUs 5V rail. Any other way of powering the logger there is no chance of losing logs when turning the key off.

Yeah I was going to say I thought the 16 pin connector kept it powered all the time, I now have 2 to play with a v1 & a v2!

My logger has developed a vertical line. Some times I get two of them. Is there anything I can do to fix this?

Have to say this is still one of my favorite tools.

it will be a fault between the LCD actual screen and the LCD controller board on the back most likely. Does it change if you push on the screen?

 Can try opening it up and squezzing the LCD towards the PCB along the top and bottom edges. They use a strip of conductive rubber to transfer data in the screen, squezzing the black bezel would add pressure to the contacts. Have not had it happen on a logger before but its common on all LCDs.

If that does not work, send it back and will replace the LCD

Have updated the first post to include the latest firmware, currently v1.13.

Have had some great suggestions for new features recently  If your on older firmware its certainly worth checking what has been added.
