Haha yea the photo is a bit of a mind screw shot does make it just look like a cd. The vinyl is making a bit of a come back even tube type amplifiers are being produced to make some if the sound quality they had back then to make up for it

Very cool old school equipment there! It would have to be fixable so long as the laser isnt dead (or any proprietry ic). Can you pop the lid off it and take a photo of the guts? Some electronic shops wont do any diagnostic work, others will so if you get a no try again. I know a bloke in SA who would be able to do it.

Yea I can pop it apart only thing is there is a disc inside at the moment and I don't want take screws out and have the insides drop and damage the disc problem is though is the open button is electrical not mechanical that and I'm a bit worried about the guts dropping and the laser getting damaged other than that it would have be in 4 million parts already looking for something

Is there a little hole just large enough to stick the end of a straightened out paperclip through somewhere? Most electronic release drives have one so you can unlock the tray should you have no power.
