When you say it's only suitable for Commodores do you know if it will still connect to and record / log generic OBDII data from any car? I appreciate any specific function for Commodores will not work on other cars, but I am hoping I will be able to log stuff from my Nissan.

Thanks
It can be used on other cars for listen to raw chatter. And might read out fault codes and diagnostic data... but only if they follow they same reading methods as GM (holden) use!. Also, your nissan will need to communicate over either VPW or CAN11bit 500kb/s as these are the only protocols I have left in the application at this time.

Bugger, I dont remember anymore what I was to add to the application. All I remember is:
1) Add in a "backup log" for the seed/key process.
2) Investigate freeze frame issue / Possible remove this problematic section
3) Investigate AUTO detect
4) Fix up "fast baud" for updating to 115200 baud
Is there any other changes needed or that people have previously requested?
*Edit
Have added in the backup log incase loss of communication for whatever reason (windows shuts down). Log is stored as a text file in the folder where the application is saved.
*Edit 2
Fixed up the auto detect.. hopefully it will work better. I had a double up of resetting the device to default settings. This could have conflicted with baud rate changes.
Also re-designed the baud updating process, now also with better error catching to better understand whats going on.
*Edit 3
Alright, Iv applied a dialog to appear if any of the ecu reading fails such as the freeze frame, vin ect. This dialog will allow you to either retry, cancel or SKIP this step and move onto the next ecu request.

I'd suggest moving the saved log file to the system "my documents" location (or make it configurable), because if the app is copied to the program files dir with admin access it wont be able to save in its directory.

Ahhhhhh.... I didnt think of that!
Cheers Antus. Ill add that in now. Will probably just make it so the user selects the location each time.. and remember the "previously used" location for quicker selection

Noticed a bunch of "ecu unlocking service!" pop up on ebay and gumtree since the releasing of the application haha. Thats alright.
Anyways, Iv made the app request save location on beginning key finder. Hopefully this will help out anyone thats had the laptop shutdown from crappy windows mandatory update and reboot

yeah but its one thing to find the key, its a whole different thing to actually be able to write a factory key back in. even if you have the key, a lot of times hptuners still refuses to write at all whinging about a "tuner lock", tunercats will do a full bin write but the key will still not be written so will remain the custom key. to unlock an ecu properly you need a special program written to overwrite the part of the memory where the key is. I can see a few unhappy customers if they are a clown at home with an elm and your program

New version is up (v0.0.0.7). Please grab it from the FIRST post. I will be updating all new versions to the first post.
Please note, the application may be flagged as a virus by antivirus software. It is not, its simply due to my licensing design as well as it has been flagged incorrectly by troublemakers. I am still trying to contact the main AV companies to be excluded from the list... it seems it takes a veryyyyyyy long time for them to determine an outcome
Again, for any new people reading, licenses are free. Please just send me a private message for one!
