Logging and Vacuum
Logging and Vacuum
Was reading the basic guide to tuning and in the section about spark, it mentions trying to get the most vacuum at each load point.
Is it possible to log vacuum? Or it that the Baro readings.
VP V6 auto using the OSE112 BLCD.
cheers

Re: Logging and Vacuum
Map sensor measures vacuum.......
Re: Logging and Vacuum
Ah,
After watching a replay of someone else's log, I realised that it was MAP that I was chasing and come back here to answer my own question and had already been beaten to it.
Thanks Jayme.

Re: Logging and Vacuum
For a vacuum reading you can setup a new item in TunerPro that is Baro - MAP.

Re: Logging and Vacuum
and just remember, map is backwards to what you'd expect, ie. 15-20kpa is like 22 inches of memcury in vacuum old school terms and 100kpa is zero vacuum (WOT)
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: Logging and Vacuum
100kpa is atmospheric pressure at sea level in reference to a complete vacuum (ie far outer space)
so a complete vac will be 0kpa
so a complete vac will be 0kpa
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.
Re: Logging and Vacuum
So the answer I get is:
((((X * 0.369) + 10.354)*0.2952999)-29.52999)*-1
((((X * 0.369) + 10.354)*0.2952999)-29.52999)*-1

Re: Logging and Vacuum
You can link directly to other items when configuring the ADX which makes the equations simpler and its worth using the baro item to get a true vacuum reading. Baro (or barometric pressure) is the MAP sensor reading at key on and engine off, its also updated during running under certain conditions.
Add a new item and the equation can be (X - Y) * 0.2952999 to display inches of mercury
X = linked to Baro
Y = linked to MAP

Re: Logging and Vacuum
Thanks VL400,
How do I add the second linked item?
Answer, add X and Y to the equation, then you can adjust the items.
Is there a way to reverse the analog gauge in Tunerpro, so that it looks more like a vacuum gauge?

Re: Logging and Vacuum
im not sure what you mean ? you should be able to just set the min/max values to what you want and the gauge scales to suit it ?
