Is that with 1 coil per cylinder?

I suppose with twice as much fuel in the cylinder Vs regular petrol it may effect ignite-ability?
yeah 6 LS2 coils in wasted spark.

and yeah 2.3 times more methanol than petrol, and thats before going into boost :P

44 amps and thats primary current not secondary coil current. Not sure what the stepping is but I'd imagine few 100mA or single digit amps at 10s of Kv

Have you tried opening gaps up now the ignition module has been sorted? Although 30 thou is pretty good considering what you are igniting, its a fair bit more than many running methanol and boost.

no I haven't bothered to play with it cause it all just works hahah :)

I only once tried it on the dyno at .060 and that was missing so put in a set of .030 plugs and the missing stopped so been running .030 ever since.

Sounds like some experimentation might be in order :)

put on your tin foil hats... my uncle made up an ignition system on his bench to test out a circuit much like this one... im not saying itll do any good and it will probably eat your plugs like no tomorrow but holy shit did it throw a spark - made a rather loud bang if you put water on the spark plug before firing the spark too.

the idea of it is to have the 300ish volts at high amps stored in the capacitor waiting at the plug tip. then the 20kv or so ignition coil actually fires, it creates a conductive path for the relatively low voltage high amperage current to flow out the cap and through the currently conductive spark plug giving you a very very energetic spark.

it ran like a normal spark plug, till he turned on the inverter, then after that, holy shit it threw big sparks.

i have played with spark gap on my ecotec, between 1.2 and 1.6mm, i noticed no fuel change at all and hardly any spark advance difference either, fuel stability is a bit worse at higher gaps, AFR's jump around a bit more. FI is where it really matters.

is it worth trying .030 on your car the1 and see if it changes anything ?

totally up to you man :)

I know it makes no difference to me as my situation is a race car and fuel economy is not really considered just proper working .... just thought if you have noticed no difference and still don't notice a difference with .030 then might just narrow down the engines it effects, ie. boosted but not N/A
