Harness query

Post by crewman »

Hi was wondering if anyone has seen this before its part of the loom which i believe is VL group A, the white plug seems to have resistors molded into it ,the black plug is just a capacitor. After tracing the wires they seem to go to pins B12 white /blue trace, D8 Grey/red Trace, D2 Black/Yellow trace,C14 Grey wire.

Pins B12 and D8 are fuel trims on the Walkinshaw. D8 for low RPM and D12 is high RPM trim.

Its not used in 12P for fuel trims so can be removed (it was actually only in the VN $5D code, the VR $12 code dropped the function). In 12P D8 is the wideband input.

Did the race cars use that feature?

Not sure about the race cars, did they even run a delco? But HSV tweaked the resistors to get the tune spot on. Its in all the $5D code so all production models could potentially use it - the option flag was just turned off so no correction was used.
