Only put a standard tune on it today so he could fit some L67 injectors then trouble shoot. Once it's all clear we'll hit the dyno for a correct tune

if its a decent cam, expect about 20 deg spark. thats where the last cammed up VS engine I tuned landed on the dyno with about 240hp atw. also be careful of false knock from the noisier camtrain, ive had that a few times. I wonder if it was false knock retard causing the glowing headers all along? anyway good luck.

Yeah agree on that for sure. Last one I did at similar power level took 22degrees all the way through the top and was productive at 12.7AFR WOT. Definitely have to dull knock sensors a touch on big lopey cams below 2800rpm I've found but above that engine noise takes over and it's no big deal usually. Resonant frequency changes I guess

Got the car on the dyno the other day and did a ground up tune. Pulled a healthy 144rwkw and has perfect manners.

The owner hasn't experienced any cracked headers after driving for a few weeks on a pretty standard desktop tune with only injector rate altered to suit L67 injectors

On the previous tune the headers would crack within a couple hundred kms so not too sure what was going on there

The owner is a clever sort and takes advice well. It liked 20 degrees through the top too under heavy throttle no probs. Sign of a well chosen cam with the higher comp

Here's the cam card. also got a vid from the customer on his way home too lol
