Sdm or srs delete VE maloo hotrod..

Post by Gareth »

Hello,

I've got an interesting project in the workshop at the moment, it's a VE maloo ute that has had the body removed and a 1934 ford replica body attached... Not joking.

We have just wired it to run and now need to start tweaking things to suit the new skin, eg: sdm delete (no airbags allowed by engineer), less speakers than original- upsetting ent. System, etc..

Connected tech2 up and went looking for a sdm delete/disable. (like you can with vt-vy) but no luck. Has anybody got any ideas?

Cheers,

Why don't you just disable vats in ECM & then re-configure cluster to have zero bags & then not sure about radio, but pretty sure a certain fellow here has been tinkering with them a bit?

Could you just leave air bags unplugged and reburn cluster epprom to not display fault ?

Yep the key will be disabling the air bag errors in the cluster. If anyone knows exactly how to do that and with what tools please add it to this thread.

There is a software out there that was a GM tool that can do it, but it isn't legally available!

But I believe Tazzi was working on software a while ago, not sure if it's released or what though?

My back up plan is to fit the sdm and wire in some resistors to 'fake' all the airbags and tensioners. This is not the desired way of going about it though, maybe there is a way to see what the sdm outputs to the ipc to keep it happy and build a little emulator?

I'd like to remove it from the software somehow, that would be ideal and clean.

This is proving to be a big task for a little light ;)

yeah it might be worth asking Tazzi in PM about software for the VE cluster's as I think he may have played with them a bit.

And theres the correct solution.. Emulation

Currently building a custom CAN board for SOE to get access to the VE's single wire can line. Can easily make it a standalone device that could emulate required information, purposely made room for a microcontroller so that this can be done

Boards have only just been ordered. Will take a few weeks for the boards+parts to roll up.
