Re: My 91 Vn Calais
for sure it would. someone here installed one of those SC on a vn i think and it did make some serious torque.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Re: My 91 Vn Calais
the m62's are just too small they are hard to get pulleys for and theres no intercooler options on the market for them
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem

I suppose you could try adapt an M90 to one.

Re: My 91 Vn Calais
they dont fit totally different shape and size both the pulley and the cooler plates

no I mean adapt a M90 to a pre eoc, maybe fabricating a manifold for it?

Re: My 91 Vn Calais
yeah but then you'd probably be better off in the long run just getting a complete L67 to begin with!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

The L67 also have a larger pin in the pistons.vlad01 wrote:yeah they do. shorter but stronger roads, longer more heavy duty piston with rings further down to avoid over exposure to heat. Lower compression for boost.holden08 wrote:dont the l67s have a stronger bottom end
only downside is the rods are shorter and add more side thrust to the piston. A built up ecotec would be better with custom pistons and rods. Few mobs that specialize in V6 do this already.
or just boost the VN engine. they have nice solid pistons, rods and very long rod to stroke ratio which make them ideal for high torque stress applications. 10-15psi easy!
out of all pre ecotec the VR engine would be the best. Most refined, reliable and bit more comp it does well on mild boost.
I think GM stuffed up when they shortened the deck height on the ecotecs. I too like the longer rods.
I know there was a thread on JC arguing about the lack of power/torque from the standard L67. One guy did put a lot of boost into a VP 3800 V6 using one of those castlemain superchargers and it made good power and torque compared to the L67 with similar boost. He did however lunch the motor because he was running n/a style timing maps.

Re: My 91 Vn Calais
I don't think it would fit. The M90 is a fair bit wider than the M62. For the L67's they had to put the injectors directly in the heads to make enough room on the LIM to fit the blower.vlad01 wrote:no I mean adapt a M90 to a pre eoc, maybe fabricating a manifold for it?
