Re: NEED HELP CRACKING THIS BIN FILE ITS A CUSTOM TUNE
ok cool ive done some adjustments and i think dick has put a security thing on this bin due to if i change one thing the engine light comes on and stays on but it doesnt set any codes? and my thermo fans just stay on cant turn them off? hhmmmm has anyone heard of something like that? its wierd cause my car seems to idle better now but i think it may be because the thermos are staying on ive done the changes that yoda pointed out it idles at 50 kpa ?

Try setting the byte at $0008 from $5B to $AA, this will disable the checksum check.
Alternatively create a new checksum from $0008 to $7FFF as a 2byte (16bit) checksum.
Place this value at $0006/7.
Currently it is DF 9B, which also checks out when I generate a checksum.
Have updated XDF to show these and generate new checksum.

What did you change the numbers in the table to?
The ones in your original bin are:
RPM-------MAP
1600-------22.12
1400-------30.21
1200-------33.15
1000-------33.89
800--------36.09
600--------44.92
400--------44.92
200--------44.92
0-----------44.92

Re: NEED HELP CRACKING THIS BIN FILE ITS A CUSTOM TUNE
Would be good to see an engine log to get a better idea, but in the meantime try changing to something like the following and see how it goes:
RPM-------MAP
1600-------32.12
1400-------40.21
1200-------53.15
1000-------53.89
800--------56.09
600--------64.92
400--------64.92
200--------64.92
0-----------64.92

Re: NEED HELP CRACKING THIS BIN FILE ITS A CUSTOM TUNE
You're not going to find one, you're going to have to create it!!!
Best thing to do is have a look at other Holden xdf's and then have a look through the bins with a hex editor and look for similarities.
Typically similar things are grouped together in the bins, they may just be at different places in different programs, that's how I found the tables I added.
As an example from $0000 to $003F BMZN ($5B bin):
074203A7000642E85B0880488E120A100108FFEF77908A1C1A0D10288A500308FF6003010021303C4B7D049C40AB0E0072FFD71C0A01601C500A006400A85B39
your tune
074203A70006DF9B5B18804807120A100108FFEF77908A1C1A0D10288A500308FF6003010021303C4B7D170A40AB0E0072FFD71C0A01601C500A006400A839FF
All the bits in RED above are the same in both bins so are most likely the same information, the ones that are different are more than likely the same parameters, but different values.
If you have a look at https://pcmhacking.net/forums/view ... hp?f=7&t=5 there is a $5B ecu file in there that can be imported into Tunerpro as a starting point.
Typically you start seeing patterns, some of which maybe offset.
About the only thing we would ask, is that if you update your xdf, that you post it back here so that others can use it and possibly add further information.
The more we help each other the quicker we all can benefit.
Good Luck,
yoda69
