just killed my battery in my VP again to 0V for the 3rd time since 08  I left the head lights on for over 8 hrs and it was so dead, only few mV on the meter.

Jump start, good as gold again like nothing happen  Delkor ftw!

Anyone have an idea on what range of dynamic CR are good to use with premium fuels?

I read on some sites 7.5-8.5 are good for pump gas but staying under 8.25 is recommended for best reliability.

Any input would be great!

Also what springs and retainers do you guys use for pre ecotec with larger cam. My cam will be about 0.460 max valve lift and ramp rate about 2.8-2.9 for the more aggressive lobe.

One for thing, are the rocker bolts reusable on VP/VR engines? Is there a better alternative for them? I dont think they are the same as ecotec as the heads of the bolts are 1/2" by the looks and 5/16" thread I think?

Check the arp website for the bolts, there'd have to be something as they had the same motor in the US or buy a set of roller rockers and they come with new bolts :) As for comp if I can get away with 10:1 on a holden V8 surely you'd have to be close ? Just make sure your not basing it on US fuel as it's different to ours and even varies from state to state over there

talking about dynamic comp, completely different kettle of fish. my static comp will be around 9.6-9.8 ish

so far my DCR is at 8.3 ish

I was once at eagles in dandenong and looked though their full ARP range and nothing even came close to bolts used on the V6.

ecotec bolts may fit but the heads are small. So not sure on how that might effect it.

Ecotec rocker bolts fit Buick. The ones on the vr motors are the same as ecotec, as the vr's had roller pivoting rockers too. I wouldn't reuse the bolts again after snapping one when changing valve springs.

Can't see why they would fit, unless they are a different design from stock. You can't go the other way though as the buick bolts have too big a flange for the roller rockers.
