Re: Sc14 to buick and e85
yeah see how its goes.
I once tried installing links to the control arms like the early commodores did in pursuit of ever failing link bushes, people claimed it was better handling. haha boy were they wrong! like driving a house boat lolol.
On my VP im going for 30mm bars on the front, 27 is noticeably better than 26 but 27mm are rare as rocking horse shit in the genuine item, so K-mac 30mm it will be.

Re: Sc14 to buick and e85
I'm happy to loose a bit of sway bar performance in the front, as I like my cars to turn. I have very good dampers and fairly heavy springs, so sway bars in my experience are less important. The original plan was to mount to the stock location, but with the mods it wouldnt work. I wish I had known that when I fabbed up the strut legs, as the mounts would have been cut off at that time. Now I'll have to pull it apart, cut them and repaint.

Which brand adjustable castor rods is that?

Whiteline
Re: Sc14 to buick and e85
interesting, I ordered whiteline ones as well and mine were painted not plated.
Keen to see how your suspension goes, was thinking about increasing the track in the VS but then I'd have to work out something with guards etc... think I'll park it for a while haha.

Yeah. The kmac one is nice. I got the white line one at a good price though, so went with it. Suspension concepts make one too.

Re: Sc14 to buick and e85
hi, why do you want so much extra track width in the front? or are you compensating for it by different offset rims? or purely 'race' application? reason i ask is i too have the suspension concepts tower bearings and am planning to run VR/VS LCA with spring assembly, with the VR/VS tie rods, namely for the additional camber & caster (plus the VT brake upgrade up front doesn't need those horrible hubs that the VB-P have to use)

Re: Sc14 to buick and e85
horrible VP hubs? they are the best! much prefer them over the VR onward hubs which are a throw away job, not as strong as they are held by only 3 cap head screws, much heavier too.
The VR arms are a backward step too due to the weak ball joint, i had to make a milling jig to actually mill larger holes to be able to bolt/pin them in place with higher grade and size bolts. Real headache.
The ball joints are exy and hard to find the genuine TWR ones which are the only ones that actually fit flat, aftermarket are wonky and move around even fully tightened, so requiring to be machined but unless you have a milling machine that costs more than buying the TRW joints.
There is no caster increase from VR ones, that is a result of the towers. I think there is a track increase of about 5mm per side through.
holmart sel real nice VP Billet hubs to take VT onward calipers, the genuine timken bearing sets are 20 each from them too, so its a lifetime part, no needing to toss the hubs.
if it were me. I'd get K mac stage 2 or 3 tops and their adjustable radius rods. You'll get all the adjustment you want and its will be lighter and way!!! stronger than VR setup.
if you want the later setup, do what tdracertd did, those VT arms are very strong as the ball joint is press fit, but the track increase might be an issue.
