got to love the wins for the old aussie iron bet you get some looks when you say its just a 202 :D.consistancy makes them win when you know what the cars gonna do every run it ends up just sit back and let it go.also knowing how your track changes over the day helps if you know the cars gonna get slower or faster over the day helps with dial-ins etc.picking dial-ins is half the fun of the day.as well as testing changes 2 weeks till we get to test the turbo upgrade that and tuning is our only change so will be purely what happened with the turbo change.that is unless we get some 4 cylinder front springs in the next week to try get more front end lift LOL if the convertor helped in the 1/8th its going to definately help over the whole 1/4 when its pulling hard in 3rd for a longer time and locked up more than the old slipper.

yeah man there was quite a few people coming over to sus it out after a few runs, and there was a few who said that my car has given them a few ideas :)

the commentator loves the holdens too, there was one run where he said over the PA (against a falcon ute) this should be an easy win for the holden lol!

your dead right about consistency, I won 2 of the 3 eliminations by the other guy going to fast for his dial-in! the track was faster on the sunday but slightly dropped off in the arvo, weather that was the track or just the fact I had 3 runs in about 1hr .... I know the coolant reading was 95 degrees when crossing the finish line for my final run, its normally not that high! only had like 10 minutes to pop the bonnet and let her cool between that run and the previous one!

one of the next things I need to do is sort my converter, try and get the stall more where I want it!

so before the last outing in this thing I found out I have some not so health ball joints and tie rod ends, so I decided to remedy these issues!

also found some cracks around where the lower ball joint goes in so gave that a weld up while it was out!

its slowly coming back together, I got sent the wrong rack boots so holding off on that till they arrive... but the ball joints are all done and its going back together.....

I also want to get some longer front studs while the hubs are off

nah not bothering with the paint at the moment, probably when i decide to park it up and do all the mods to allow me to run faster than 11.00 then i'll probably give it a strip and repaint :) although the longer front studs are on that list of mods, but its cheap enough and will mean i don't need to pull it apart again :)

Hey Holden202, finally got a chance to look at this thread properly after ya sent me the link, you took ya hat of to me regarding the l67gem build, cheers for that but can i just say, if your taking ya hat of for me i better take mine of and give it to ya, might aswell take me shirt to man that car is the freakin grouse, i think i admire it more knowing it was all done in ya own shed apart from dyno really but hey who has a dyno laying around in their shed, wasnt sure if the more i read the more i got a little jealous because of the similarities and because yours is so unique and kick ass but done well mate, ya would of heard that a few times now as i have read in thread

so I've added an accelerometer to my data logger, and got the logger all flat and solid mounted to the floor of the car, and hoping to get some good data from it leaving the line :)

below is a test I did in the shed stabbing the throttle to see that the g force axis were reading.....
g-force log test.jpg
not sure why my readings are so jumpy compared to VL400's, can only assume its the solid mounted engine with lumpy cam compared to his smooth as silk Lexus V8 ;)

I've also added in the Z axis which VL400 didn't connect in his, not sure how much use it will be and im not sure the axis is reading correctly at the moment, but time will tell! I guess it should tell if the car is lifting or dropping in the front end ?

Jack up each end and side of the car and see what happens with the accelerometer. Should give you a clue.
