ok sweet sounds like a good build :) id defiantly recoment the mace girdle its a bit of fetteling to get it to fit properly but defiantly worth the block rigidity it provides

yeah i like the idea of a sinlge plate i just want to know that its going to put up with the load that this things going to put on it

i beleive its about that size of a turbo it has a.86 rear on it and it is good for a touch over 30psi at 105,000 rpm so depending on what this engine uses/consumes it should see at least the 400rwkw mark i hope with fingers crossed lol

ok ill have a look into the npc stuff de they do conversions for the t56 aswell? and whats there flywheel good to cope with?

yeah im keen to get this kit etc

so ive been doing my cam timing for the last hour and the closest i can get it is 33deg btdc and it wants 31 and thats going beyond the limits of the cam gear timing mars ive had to jump teeth to get it there -_- not sure if thats correct or not but its nearly where its supposed to be also does anyone know if the double row timing chain uses the tensioner still or not from what i can tell it doesn't

dont just base it off intake reading... take a reading on intake and another reading on exhaust, to be sure. you dont want to find your cam isnt quite what the card says and be way off on your exhaust timing.

I'd put the cam tensioner on, even if the chains tight now, if it ever stretches the tensioner will help stop it flap around.

Intake centreline method would be best to degree that cam. No tensioner on the chain as it's so tight and un giving it will munch the tensioner in a couple months flat. Got the machined oil pump cover I hope

yeah got the cam into spec had to go a couple of teeth past max advance to get it there and it matches the exaust so im happy with that also that what i thought about the tensioner so ill leave it off and yeah i got the mace oil pump kit so it clears the chain just gotta put the timing cover on and get an arp bolt for the ballancer and thats the block sorted finnaly :D :punk:

Just a new stock balancer bolt is all you need. I don't think ARP make a GM V6 series II Balancer bolt.

vt3.8lt wrote:Ok cool that helps however im more than likely going to need a multiple plate cluch to keep this thing contained so a factory spec flywheel might not be suitable unless you know if the t56 flywheels use same bolt pattern as a ecotec ?
I know you have settle with the flywheel you want, but I just want to point out that with what ever clutch / flywheel you decide to fit now or in the future. The centre part wont change as the V6 crankshaft will be driving it. I have built my own twin plate clutch with a custom lightened Chromoly flywheel & the centre section (with the dowel pins) is the same as Exedy's, NPC's, Xtreme's , Mal Woods, Clutch Industries, etc etc. Because it has to bolt up the the V6 crankshaft.
