Sorry to hijack this thread but im having a similar issue.
Jaycar speedo corrector wont work, cant get the LED to flash, speedo doesnt work obviously.
VSS is the T700 auto one
Speedo itself is a VN speedo adapted into a HQ housing.
Should I try a pullup resistor for this aswell?
I wire the resistor into the signal wire from the VSS before the jaycar module, correct?
Thanks in advance

Re: jaycar speed corrector in vs s3 v8
im not sure if it applies to the T700's real hall effect sender..., mine was a VS v8 where the PCM is creating the square wave, and the only way it would work was to add the pullup... so its worth a shot, it certainly wont damage anything.
yes you add it before the jaycar module, on the VSS side, 10k or 1k to 12v and see how it goes.

tried it before the ecu but it makes the speed jump aroung so i might just get rid of this and get a different module

Re: jaycar speed corrector in vs s3 v8
Ok done a bit more investigation.
I dont think my problem is related to the jaycar module at all.
Ive got a good 12v and earth to the correct pins of the VSS as described in my factory VP service manual.
Have 7v on the VSS signal wire (Factory manual says i should have 8 to 10v).
Also signal is not being pulsed to earth as i rotate the VSS (Says it should be earthed 10 times per revolution)
Ive checked the drive from the transmission is rotating and have removed the sensor and turned it by hand.
Only using a multimeter to check the signal but i should be able to see it pulse to earth if I rotate it slowly by hand, correct? Or should i put a scope on it?
Im pretty confident the hall IC has failed.
Does anyone have a spare VN/VP Auto VSS they want to sell and could post this week?
Thanks

I tried the jaycar speedo corrector same thing wouldnt work no matter what I tried.
Bought a Dakota digital speedo corrector and no issues works great.

I haven't heard a good thing yet about these latest Jaycar correctors.
The Dakota Digital SGI5 I dealt with was perfect.
