Re: Marvel Mystery Oil
the 90 deg v6 with weakened split crank journals and inherently unbalanced isnt all that suited to high rpm anyways...

I've done the pinning of the cam bearings, but you can only get at the two middle ones. I would not alter any of the holes sizes in the cam bearing or main & big end bearing shells. These are you controls of oil pressures at those points. Having a larger gallery behind these oil holes ensures a good supply volume but doesn't affect the pressure too much if the holes are left at their original size to meter the oil pressure out through them.

Re: Marvel Mystery Oil
All of the highest powered L67/ Ecojets in Australia run standard oiling systems except for a relief spring pressure bump up. I've tried a few different ways and pulled down a few of those engines at freshen up times and jury is out on what's best. I'll say this though......drilling oil galleries massively increases risk of swarf residing post drilling and shifting downstream and embedding into a cam shell and i know of someone that always does the ZZP oil mods that's lost a few engines from this phenomenon so maybe if it aint broke don't fix it hahar

OZ38 wrote:Yeah a crazy rodder by the name of James in the USA that was a member of the 3800Pro forum did lots of odd things looking at how to improve the 3800 V6 oiling deficiencies. We got into a long thread a few years back when he wanted to analyse the 3800 V6 thoroughly lol.Charlescrown wrote:Hey OZ38 that's a nice cross section not the normal thing to have on the shelf. Was it done for a particular purpose?
