lol at all of this

firstly, I will not be going to any ford motor EVER ;) secondly, damn straight I like seeing the opposition when they get spanked by a 202 hehehe! - theres two types, the ones that respect the effort and thought that has gone into the right bits to beat them, or the ones that hate it cause its a dirty old 202 ...... its the latter ones i get so much joy out of beating and the others i enjoy a beer with! ;)

in all honesty, a V6 or anything bigger cubes would definitely make more power, but the 202 is also better balanced and takes more revs with less issues than a V6 without spending a lot of dollars.

I also just fucking love 202's and their sound is not replicatable in any V6 I've heard!

I also have about 4 spare motors in the shed I need to use up before I change heheh! ............... make that 3

there is a lot more left in this combo before its at its limits, It's done a 10.50 over the 1/4 and I reckon i'll get a 9 out of it with a few things sorted! and at the end of the day im not wanting to make the most horsepower ... if i was I'd get a 2jz or something like that, the main aim is to play with the motors i know and love and see what i can make them do :)
god knows i never envisaged a turbo 202 with 6 coils and methanol EFI when i started building this car! :turbo: :driving:

my local mechanic shop, the owner is a real nut for those. he has a 5.1L hemi 6 lol, amongst many other hemi 6 engines. One he has makes over 200rwkw with just off the shelf stuff, NA that is.

hemi head on 202 block?

Commiserations. Did the valve touch the top of the block or down the bore?

well technically both hehe ?!?!?!

this is an old pic, but shows the chamfers i put in the bore to clear the valves, it hit in the middle of that area...... the question is, did it hit because the lifter failed and pushed the valve open more than normal or did it fail from the valve hitting in the first place!

i also noticed a very small mark on the top of the piston where the edge of the dish starts, which makes me think the valve has opened more than normal when it failed.

If it only kissed with one valve, I'd have to agree, unless it has a soft spring. What lift does the cam have?
