good Reg cleaner

Post by immortality »

Hey guys,

Been thinking about that win 10 upgrade, but then I thought, better get it running properly before doing any upgrades.....

So, as the thread title says, I'm looking for a good reg cleaner. What do you experts use/recommend? Prefer a free one but if it costs a little I'm ok with that too if it works. I downloaded a free trial (registry reviver), says I have lots off issues but doesn't fix anything until you actually purchase a license :(

Thanks in Advance :)

Do a google search on doing the upgrade as a clean install.

there is no point to it.... it doesnt make your pc run any faster or any better... its a 100% placebo effect... giving you nothing but a warm fuzzy feeling that you have run a program that claims to make your pc healthier. then again im careful what I install in the first place... if your pc is that trashed better off reinstall.

Im use very little software. Windows office tuner pro flash tool tazzis software. I run drop box and a 1tb external for all my files. I still do a format about every 12 months. I rotate hard drives so the ladt one isn't wiped. Just incase.

The only protection I run is the Microsoft security essentials. Works for me.

Hmm Windows 10.

Been using since last October. Many beta versions have crashed into my system.

Opinion?... Well, if you want to turn your PC/Laptop into a spyware infested oversized smart phone or tablet.

There is so much to distrust about this new OS that defies belief.

Just google the EULA before considering installing. 15000 words of how they own all your data. No really!

If you already have a licenced system, please don't upgrade to Win10. There is no user benefit outside of the 'App Store'.

CCleaner and Malwarebytes do a good job. And yes a registry does need a clean out occasionally.. its only a database at the end of the day.

Or suit yourself. :afro:

I'm still using Windows XP on my Laptop with the TunerPro & some downloading.
The home PC has Windows7 which I am getting used to. At work they have forced Windows 8 onto us & we hate it. So no chance I will take the free upgrade to Windows 10.
Tried reg cleansers before & only seem to cause my PC & laptop more grief.
I like malwarebytes as it has help many times in the past sort crap out.

Cheers

Yeah still not buying it. For what reason does the registry "need" a clean? It's not for speed. So to satisfy ocd tendencies? There would be no reason to clean it if you are careful what you install. If you aren't installing crapware constantly and are careful what websites you browse to, then there is nothing to fill your registry with anything in the first place. On top of that I'm buggered if I trust some random guy who thinks he knows what's best to dig around and decide what to delete out of my registry anyway.
