Hi gents
Anyone got any info on the speed sensor it the vl cluster?
I'm just wondering if it can be used to feed the 808 a speed signal so a cable can be used in the box to drive the speedo
vl speed sensor info
Re: vl speed sensor info
it sure can I use it In my vl for the 808 1250ppk with 3.08 diff gears
Re: vl speed sensor info
Do you happen to know how is wired by any chance

Re: vl speed sensor info
it has all the info on the PCB .... pretty much just need gnd, +12v and pulse wire....
as per below pics, I just got the part needed out of the dash and put it into a box, this is to drive a speedo cable from a trimatic.
I think from memory the yellow wire is the 5 pulses per revolution or something, there are others which are 1 I think ? either way if you use the wiring colours in the above picture you should be right for connection to a delco 808.

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: vl speed sensor info
My plan was to still use it in the mates vl with the 5ltr
As he currently has no speedo, as the t5 box has the speed sensor in it.
The stock vl dash wiring should have a wire running over near the ecu can that be used ?? And any idea on ppk of it
If I need to have a hack I'm sure I can find a spare pin on the cluster and a wire that runs the direction
But joining a wire and burning a new chip with the rightish ppk
Sounds so much better

Re: vl speed sensor info
you can get a cable with t5 on 1 end vl dash on the other end use the cog out of the t5 speed sensor on the end of the cable easy as that. the pcb on the back of the speedo has the wiring printed on it or at least mine did was a real easy fix.
