265 Hemi to efi
Re: 265 Hemi to efi
yeah after hearing Holden202's engine start compared to the big carby v8's on methanol cranking till their batteries died, I reckon the injectors spraying at high pressure is way easier to start than the carbies dribbling it in. carby methanol cars are the main cause of starting stress.... on a nice warm summers day you would be excused for seeing the gemini start and not realise it was even on meth!

Looks like I'd better get a car running on it, I've been thrashing the human motor for years with good resultsCharlescrown wrote:Too much alcohol makes it hard to start when cold in both car and human body. But it is such a lovely product for both uses.

Re: 265 Hemi to efi
lol! which reminds me i need to get beer on the way home!
i love going to the drags, fire it up, put it in reverse and back it off the trailer with 20 degree coolant temps

No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

You need to start home brewing again, then you'd have beer at home icy cold already !

See alcohol is best kept for the human body. After-all we cannot drink petrol so lets leave it that way. We drink the alcohol they drink the petrol and there is enough to go around. No alcohol is a beautiful fuel but is a bit cantankerous to start. We used to run 20% alcohol and 80% nitro methane in a funny car but had to spray petrol into the intake to get it running. Boy that nitro turns a pussy cat into a lion.

Question? If using a stock engine on 12p what is require to do a swap to e85 besides using the e85 adx? Up the kinjflow by 35% and cranking pulse? Thinking I'll use the opportunity to test e85 on my old engine before swaping to the new one.
I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.
Re: 265 Hemi to efi
Bigger injectors I'd say as well
Re: 265 Hemi to efi
I would say you could just change the target afr tables and leave the kinjflow as is if you're keeping the same one's.vlad01 wrote:Question? Fitted the manifold to the motor to check how everything fits and all pretty good so far. Just need to fit the bonnet to check the height, it will be close but I reckon the TB should sneak under. I also need to cut down the firewall side of the fuel rail as there is not much clearance for the fuel regulator.
Fortunately it was like The wiring loom was just meant to fit an inline six

But won't it need 35% more fuel everywhere due to less energy density? I figure increasing kinjflow would be necessary because you can't just up the VE by that much.Dylan wrote:I would say you could just change the target afr tables and leave the kinjflow as is if you're keeping the same one's.vlad01 wrote:Question?
