that paint is different brand so i wanted to do a test to see if it was the same colour as VHT, funny mates i have, put a chev orange in there with the gold lid, and it happened to be the one i picked up to test! the gold is near enough to the same from what i can see! and yes always gold :) dunno why, i just love how it goes with the chrome/alloy bits!

yesterday did some ring gaping, so thats all done, and then did bore reliefs for the values, so today hoping to wash the block and crank, then start assembling!

first run if i have time will be on the dyno and if not then 19th march at Gunnedah drags.

Looks great

Brings back a lot of memories of engines we built a long time ago, i remember having to machine the top edge off the water pump and side plates like it looks you do...
According to chemistry, alcohol is a solution...

hahaha yeah i milled my head last time with the thermostat housing on it so it go skimmed too! and yeah i have filed the top of the water pump to get it below the block level! this one isn't sooo bad cause i got higher pistons this time so the block only needed a 15 thou hit to square it up (was out 5 thou front to back from GM) but the head has had quite a bit off it to get comp where i wanted it for methanol and boost.

its looking like it will be bang on 10.5:1 comp :turbo: :driving:
