Re: My Delcoed Rides
How much timing advane are you running at idle? V8's like high 20's with a decent cam.

Re: My Delcoed Rides
yeah its about 27 degrees, that seemed to be the best spot, over that and it lost vacuum, and too far under and it didn't want to idle too well. (see log on previous page has spark at idle)
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: My Delcoed Rides
The VH idles great during warmup. as soon as its warm and goes into closed loop idle it hunts like a pig. The Issue I see is there is a delay from when the IAC opens to when the engine reacts so its always chasing its own tail.
Is there a setting to how many idle steps it uses to stall save? Is it that the saver decay rate? Thinking a setting with minimum and max idle step limit would be helpful because when it stall saves it over shoots the rpm and then over reacts by closing the IAC that in itself nearly stalls the engine, cycling over again.

Re: My Delcoed Rides
im notsure you want to be looking at stall saver, maybe the settings for how it reacts to closed loop iac changes ....
it might also be the spark settings for closed loop idle you need to look at.

looked at spark and fueling. thats all good, its all down to the IAC. When the stop screw is open more to the point the IAC is no longer controlling (0 steps) the idle is mint

Re: My Delcoed Rides
no no not main or idle spark tables, closed loop idle spark modifiers
particularly the last few, idle spark correction limit, high/low rpm correction multipliers.

Nope, thats fixed. Look at the last log in my thread, leaned the crap out of it in the low area, mint as nowvlad01 wrote:The VH idles great during warmup. as soon as its warm and goes into closed loop idle it hunts like a pig.

Re: My Delcoed Rides
Are you running any of the closed loop stuff? Also, BLM can have an effect on this. I had exactly the same issue and turned both off, problem solved. As I recall it's on E85 yes? and Siemens Dekka 60lb injectors? All I did was max out the temp ranges to enable Closed loop and BLM. Hope that helps.vlad01 wrote:The VH idles great during warmup. as soon as its warm and goes into closed loop idle it hunts like a pig. Re: My Delcoed Rides
I had my previous combo with zero steps at warm idle. Big solid with a big plenum intake. Idled great at 900rpm. As for my new cam small hydraulic with standard intake something weird going on.
