You could try pushing the whole thing different ways in the reader while you read it. I had a memcal with a bad connection in it and it'd work fine while i leant on it to push the contacts inside against the pins a bit more, and failed as soon as I let go. If that doesnt work im out of ideas too.

Also, to verify if the problem is with the adaptor, to checking for continuity from the let of the data pin 0 through to where it comes out on the other side of the adaptor. If this shows as non connected thats what you need to resolve.

If you put it back in the ecu does the check engine light go out when you start it. :?:

There are two revisions of $83, so its probably not so much a case of being wrong, as being the other one. Theres an id tool here https://pcmhacking.net/forums/view ... ?f=3&t=273 that you can use to detect which one you have, when you have a good read of the chip. If you figure that out, then add a note to the $83 xdf or let us know and we will as this is the sort of stuff we need to clear up.

ok i have tidied up a $83 and included a few more things (Trans controls) seems to be working fine, let me know if there is anything not right, then we could add it to the xdf thread.
