Supercharger 355

Post by boostedvn »

Hello ppl. Need advice on rebuilt 355.its got a a power flow supercharger on it. It won't rev clean over about 4000 rpm . Starts to surge .its got new coil new leads new plugs new dizzy cap rotor button I've got a wideband gauge hooked up to it mixtures are in there ranges .under boost fuel pressure gauge fitted which goes out to about 45 psi could it be dizzy or map sensor or another sensor goes fine to about 4000rpm but then struggles if you nail it from standard start will rev clean but if you build up to revs then nail it it seems to struggle..its got 60lb injectors. Pacers with single 2.5 exhaust .maybe exhaust choking it.. Same set up on tired 304 never had these problems. Plugs are bpr6 ETFs gapped to about .8of a mm. Cheers

Other than the 60lbs injectors have you upgraded any other parts of the fuel system?

2.5" exhaust for a blown 355 is definitely on the small side.

yeah fuel pump if its stock in tank pump might not be up to it .....

has it been tuned ?
what boost is it running ?
what is the wideband showing when it falls over ?
what spark advance at this point ?
what computer is it running on ?
does it have 2/3 bar map sensor ?

i don't think the exhaust would make it surge, might be a restriction but certainly think theres more issues.

Its got a Bosch o44 fuel pump 2 bar map sensensor.. Wideband is saying mid 11s when it stops pulling.its like a surge .fuel pressure doesn't drop. I'm just wondering if its a spark issue. Its had two different tunes.. One was the same as old 304. Still same issue. Its also got tickled heads double valve springs . camtech can with 114 lobe separation.. Could it be distributor. Or maybe a sensor. Or two bar map playing up.. Cherrs

Do you have a copy of the tune or the tools to download it yourself?

Post up the bin and a log. Might be an AE adjustment. You said it's ok from a standing start? Just not booting it from speed?

yeah if you have stuff connect to the ecm and have $12P post a log, thats the best way .... and hopefully your wideband is feeding into the ecm too so that will be in the log.
