Commodore engines for fender benders

Post by steve-79 »

G'day guys.

I am just getting into fender benders with some friends and we are trialing newer model cars with injection.

Basically the newest one is a vr. We have got it all ready to start but don't have/want the bcm.
we just have the ignition on a switch and the starter on a button. fuel pump is sorted but we only get 2 injector pulses when we hit the starter and then nothing.

What i would like is some advice on the cheapest and easiest way to get into programming these for a. bypassing the vats and b. setting rev limiters etc.
once we trial the first few, there will be alot more to do so i don't really want to just get someone else to do them.

This is my first night of research and i will keep looking so don't write me off as a useless noob just yet, but since i don't have alot of time i thought asking might yield some great and fast results from people more knowledgeable than I.

thanks in advance.

Yeah FAQ link is up the top right of the page. Tunerpro RT is free with optional registration to support the developer, and you'll need a way to reprogram the flash chip. Essentially you need to disable VATs, and write that tune to the memcal with some kind of chip/programmer. There are multiple options, some searching should find you what you need. Also in some models the BCM controls the high speed fan, so when you remove it you loose fan control. You can tweak when the low speed fan comes on and wire the high speed in parallel so that its just fans on, fans off.
Have you read the FAQ? For lots of information and links to significant threads see here: http://pcmhacking.net/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1396

I'll be honest, it took me weeks to 'discover' the hidden FAQ button up there...!!
