the car we swapped the manifold to tp dual plane had stock match ported bananas.

yes the neck is a bit of an odd shape, which is why the starr manifold cuts the whole thing off and replaces it. also I have heard of some people cutting off the bottom plate and some porting done inside the plenum then reattaching it.

On the star manifolds it's just std bananas with the neck cut off and there own neck welded on with a 90mm TB. It wouldn't be hard to duplicate it, I'm thinking of doing it and also increasing the plenum volume, my only concern is I don't want to loose any down low power as its really nice on the freeway in 6th, I don't have to hear down to overtake or for hills

as far as I know... its more about the runner length that gives you the low down torque. I think you will be ok with only plenum volume and neck mods.

You won't loose any torque down low, should increase with more plenum volume.

the best mod for a stock manifold is to cut the neck off weld a plate to it and put the throttle body forward facing like an ls. it is easy and works and opens up all sorts of throttle body options.

With a nice 90 degree bend on that it looks like it wouldn't be to hard to match it up to the factory air box.

That air filter in factory box would have to be a restriction
? Look at VT onwards the filters are much bigger

yep the issue is the box itself.
