Re: CF Bedford Van
theres no oil in the diff, or the front seal for that matter
one day!
in other news i got it out the shed the other day to have some more room hasn't been out of the shed for ages!
also fitted an addition to the trailer, few different reasons, but just mainly might be handy
just under 2T capacity so should handle most race cars

Re: CF Bedford Van
Soo cheap now, why not... I thought I ruined my spine after cranking the Statesman onto a hire trailer a few short months ago.
Poor thing is basically a write off, but that is a whole 'nother story..
My old man bought a 14000lbs winch for under 300bucks delivered for his hilux. If it works once, its paid for its self.
Buyers market for the tight arses these days. Fully paid member me.
Almost anything can be had cheap, quality is the lottery.

Yeah that's it, race car breaks, winch has paid for itself!
It looks like dad may be buying a parts car too so the winch might be used sooner than I thought!

Re: CF Bedford Van
i need to do some testing with mine to see how much juice it needs for a few pulls, because i am hoping i can use a sealed cell battery or something as needed and just plug it into the trailer when using it, then remove for recharging etc.
yet to decide on that part of it.

Re: CF Bedford Van
hook the battery up to the tail lights with a diode from an old alternator and charge the battery as you drive can always run park lights during the day

Re: CF Bedford Van
A really small car battery works fine for dragging a car up on a trailer, they draw a fair bit of current still. The little sealed lead acids dont like high current draw.
Also have a 12V feed in your trailer plug to keep it topped up while driving - you know it will be flat when you go to use it otherwise! It wont be fully charged due to the volt drop from the front of the bedford to the trailer but wont overcharge either.
edit: jenko beat me to it!
