yeah ive just got my wideband displaying petrol numbers as there ones that i understand and that most people understand when explaining at 11.5-1 it would actually be seeing the 8.5 ish stoich that e85 needs for full power gone back to a colder plug aswell seems to have sorted it out must have just been a bad plug or it got cracked when i put it in :|

Hey guys had this wracking my mind lately trying to think of a way to keep the fuel around the pump in my vt's tank without having to go to a surge tank just yet (will be happening in the future just not on the list yet) there is no baffles in this tank and as far as i can fighure out it looks like the fuel pump holster keeps it fed with fuel in stock form but to get the aftermarket pumps sock on i had to modify said housing i have been thinking about the idea of putting a fair bit of fuel cell foam in there to help keep it from sloshing around but im nit sure how successful that would be just wondering if anyone else has had this issue and found a solution as baffling the tank isnt an otion being plasitc cheers

any one that i have heard of using the foam has not been a good outcome .....

why don't you just make sure the tank is reasonably full when racing ?

I've ran the same foam for over ten years with out trouble, wasn't cheap from memory.. Surge tank is the best option in my opinion. Foam will help slow the weight transfer of fuel in hard cornering causing suspension unloading.
According to chemistry, alcohol is a solution...

Ok cool thats what i wanted to do just try and stop all the fuel running to the opposite side of the tank when it gets down neer the half way mark or under i always fill the tank up when its going fo a race for this reason but a surge tank is a definite but i would also like to have something in the main tank so that the lift pump doesnt run the surge tank dry leaning the engine also might price up some foam even if it goes into the opposite side of the tabk just to keep the fuel neer the pump

thats the whole idea of the surge tank so you don't need anything in the main tank :P and if your running the surge tank dry, you'd have to be flat out up it for quite a while!

from what i can see the wideband reading and calc VE is saying theres a lean spot in that area of the tune!

but i can see that the map sensor is not even going to 100kpa on WOT, which seems odd, where is the map sensor put into the manifold ? i recall this is 2 bar map sensor and $11P ??

also you are commanding 9-8.5 AFR's ? seems excessively rich for Petrol AFR?

ok cool ive been wracking my brain tring to find it but if its just a lean spot on the map i can deal with it but it seems strange cause at the same map reading roughly it just goes lean and causes the car to jerk etc its quiet anoying ive turned everything off trying to find it closed throttle ve, lean cruise etc

the map is straight out of the plenum and its now 3bar map probably y its confusing your side of things

i did have the afrs set to 9-8.5 but changed them back to factory values to try and trouble shoot the problem ill be putting them back once ive discovered what is happening cheers for the help guys i really appreciate it its been wracking my brain for ages trying to narrow this down

regardless of anything your way too rich for petrol AFR's you probably don't want to go any richer than 10.5-11 on full boost.

try leaving the AFR's alone and adjusting the VE table in that area.
