My biggest concern is if there was an accident and even if nobody was hurt what would the insurance company do?

Your airbag module is designed and programmed for your vehicles configuration. As others mentioned before my software doesnt reprogram SDM's, there no software out there that does including Holdens.

I know from looking at the salvage auctions, that they are extremely picky about vehicles with airbags that have not deployed. So, the investigators do recognize it if the vehicle is supposed to have them fitted.

If it's only the instrument cluster that's throwing the dummy about the open circuit, if I was to get the airbag module from the car with 2 airbags and just reprogram my cluster that should correct the srs light right?
Assuming the Bcm has no input to the srs?

from memory the srs module is hard set, but your cluster has to be set to match, eg how many loops

I just want to confirm tassi that if I could source a srs module from a executive, with only the 2 bag option, I could buy your software change the dash loop configuration or airbags and clear the Srs it should work?
All else fails I will get rid of them.
In all honesty these seats are mint. And I managed to get just the fronts and not all four as most people do package deals.
So want to keep them as much as possible.

Honestly I have no idea if that will work. I have't attempted to do that so Im unsure if that would work.

They shouldnt be, i know if people need to replace faulty SDM's they need to find the same type that came out of that vehicle. theres a few different types from 6.2-8.0-8.1.
8.0 came as 2,3 and 4 loop and all with 15 pinned connectors, as far as im aware 8.1 cam in the vx lux, vy vz vehicles with the SIAB. They have 25 pin connectors.
i have brought a 4 loop 8.0 SDM but obviously the plug is different but the loom has a break away connection from the front near the shifter ( i imagine holden used the same loom for the pass and driver airbag as they all come factory in vt vx vy vz and used the optional 25 pin loom if the car had optional or factory SIAB)

I will go to wreckers during weekend and remove the 15pin loom from the car i removed the SDM from, connect all that then change the clusters config to 4 loop then clear codes and see if srs light goes out

Looking at the wiring diagram between the connector of the 8.0 and 8.1 all pins 1-15 are exactly the same between the two, the 8.1 plugs pins 16-25 are only to do with the left and right SIAB and there respective peripheral accelerator sensors in the B pillars. so it literally looks to be a change of SDM and a patch loom and plug thats the difference between having side impact and not, and obvioulsy the configuration in the cluster

Fwiw... I sorted it, used the loom from the Vt, changed cluster to a Vt cluster same as the module. Left all other wiring in there incase I find another set of seats from a vy or vz.
Keeping original front seats so if and when I sell they can go back in with correct module and wiring.
