e55 VZ ecu replaceement

Post by 80gus »

Having spent a few hours searching, can someone explain the process needed to replace/repair a VZ ECU, i have a bit of experience with the LS 411-e38 ecu's and have been asked several times if i can replace an VZ e55 ecu. Not knowing the process or Software hardware needed ive always turned the work away, can some1 explain where i would start looking, your experiences ect

there's another thread recently on here, but basicly you need the ecu security code, then you can unlink it with the tech2, then relink it with the new code. Without the old code to clear the link on the ecu it's of no use.

Thanks for the reply i was aware of the code but not that tech2 is the only way. I might just not bother!
