808 rev limit happening at 4500rpm?

Post by Gareth »

G'day all,

Im heading over to a mates place tonight to have a look at his production sedan speedway car, its a VS sedan running 808 on a pre ecotec. Anyway as the title suggests they are sure that the 'Mang, Mang' is happening at 4500rpm...

My question is, is there anything in the code that could cause this? (they have asked me to raise the RPM limit, but a quick look at APNX shows me that the hi rpm fuel cut is set at 5500rpm)

They are running APNX in the 808.

Im sure this is a mechanical problem, but I'd thought I'd check with the brains trust first

Cheers.

Just checking has the file been modified at all or is it the stock APNX on the stock memcal or is it running $12p & has it been stacked or any other changes in the file that could have been using wrong XDF for release version or anything previously?

Is a stock standard, unmessed with file, factory format

Possibly running on limp home circuit?

Will check, but probably not, no

No, production sedan is basically a street stock (standard engine) with modified steering and suspension.

Is it aftermarket? if not, maybe a V8 dash?

not false knock retarding it too much? remember the first time the vh was on the dyno with the 424 and how it just died in the ass when it went full knock retard? lol
