Hotrod convertion
Re: Hotrod convertion
Hi got it to run by mistake while checking wiring I pulled the vacuum line off and forgot to put it back started it was running ruff and backfiring reset the timing and got it to run better had to wind the idle screw in a few turns to get it to idle and noticed that the hose was off put it back on and it stalled took it off again and started it again tried to record a log but tablet went flat tried with laptop but couldn't get coms so give up and I'll try again tomorrow night must be still over fuelling too need so much extra air.

Re: Hotrod convertion
yeah, no map sensor connected will make it run richer!
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Yeah map readings of 100kpa (atmospheric) will be treated like wide open throttle, which needs a lot more fuel than idle.
Actually I did notice that the logs the start attempts showed 90->100kpa but I wasnt sure off the top of my head what norm was, and didnt consider the hose might be off or leaky.

Re: Hotrod convertion
The iac could have a and b coils wired wrong there was two wiring pinouts of the square plug iac I found when wiring the 808 harness to the tpi iac. It will stuff the idle
If Its Got Gas Or Ass Count Me In.if it cant be fixed with a hammer you have an electrical problem
Re: Hotrod convertion

Re: Hotrod convertion
I also fitted the vn coolant sensor instead of the tpi version as it was a big weird sensor that I never confirmed acted like the vn one so was easier to just swap it out

Re: Hotrod convertion
Hi the iac has four wires that are in a square pattern and marked A high and low and B high and low I have removed the throttle body and it's not blocked but the iac may not be opening enough I have recorded another log with it running with the
hose offRe: Hotrod convertion
Put it in diagnostic mode with engine off but ignition on and the pintle should extend fully (will fly out if the solenoid is removed from the throttle body)
