Hwy guys what do this 2 tables represent?
Normal Mode - Force Motor Pressure (PSI) V's TPS & KPH
Performance Mode - 2nd Gear Pressure Offset - Force Motor Pressure (PSI) V's TPS (for normal as well and all gears)

They control how hard/fast the transmission changes gears.
normal is for economy mode and performance relates to power mode.

line pressure, only how hard it changes
the speed it changes is a different calibration

just be careful here guys .... Normal Mode - Force Motor Pressure (PSI) V's TPS & KPH - refers to ANY GEAR in normal mode ....

and Performance Mode - 2nd Gear Pressure Offset - Force Motor Pressure (PSI) V's TPS - refers to performance mode - power mode whatever you want to call it, 2dn gear only ... meaning it will only effect second gear in performance mode AND its an offset of the Performance Mode - Force Motor Pressure (PSI) V's TPS & KPH

eg. at 100% tps 5500rpm you might have 90psi in the above table, thenif you have a -10 at that same load in the offset table it means 90 - 10 = 80 psi .....

also its worth playing with the force motor pressures just to see what effects it has, as i think i've mentioned in other threads, my economy/normal mode shifts slightly quicker but its not too bad, then my performance/power mode shifts slightly harder than that....

alot is achievable without the aftermarket shift kits!
so if you want to made it shift harder in any gear in normal or performance mode then you want to play with:

Normal Mode - Force Motor Pressure (PSI) V's TPS & KPH
Performance Mode - Force Motor Pressure (PSI) V's TPS & KPH

however if you just want to change a certain gear in a certain mode then use the offset tables.

Did anyone ever sort out how to setup a full manual shift mode in power mode i quite liked that option in the come tune.
And is it possible to make it shift anywhere near as good electronically as it does with a shift kit can you get rid of the horrid flaring between changes and make it chirp into second and launch instead of sludging etc or will it cause damage .

So if i changed the forced pressure and that effects shifting. Wouldn't the normal or performance low or high alt desired shift times do this also? Im only having a rough guess, but i now know what the others do :D

Well i have a T700 with stage 2 shift kit (was in the torana behind the ecotec when it was running the 808 computer) and compared to that i reckon its about stage 1 maybe 1.5 :D its never going to be as good as a proper shift kit but for simple changes in the code its a good compromise.

i've never had flaring between gear changes, in my opinion thats an issue with the gearbox not a standard feature!

oh and yeah full manual shift is in my ckul bin i posted ..... check out the 1-2 shift thresholds i think it is ....

the "desired" shift times are only going to be able to shift quicker if the hydraulic pressure in the box is high enough to allow it to shift that quick..... you'll notice in my ckul bin there are redured shift times but i can tell you now at light throttle it shifts alot slower than at WOT!

Cool thanks i'll give it a go at a later date with the vt sc once the engines done see if i like it before i go to the trouble of putting a kit in.
My v8 box probably was a bit worn having done 180 k's and the shift kit firmed everything up but i notice a lot of them flare between gear changes real slow easy not hard and firm like with the kit.

well the 4l60e i put in the torana was of unknown other than from a running car that fried the motor it worked ok stock but was slow as a snail on gearchanges, so i did the mods as per my ckul bin and its now slightly better than stock in normal mode and much better in performance mode :D

i have no doubt its a bandaid fix and the box will probably shit itself before too long but you get that

Cheers for the explanation. From what i just read, if i want quicker changes i need to up the pressure as well? If i am correct in saying so, is their some sort of ratio? As stock it sits on 0.82 shift time with 90PSI.
