Re: Vlad's rides thread
what model has solid spacer in it ? all the ones I've seen are crush tube type ?
No matter what the question is, the answer is always more horsepower!

Re: Vlad's rides thread
Early B/W have solid spacer and shims to adjust
Vlad will have the crush type

Re: Vlad's rides thread
Must be very early, I have a VL diff in the garage and it had the crush tube fitted.

Interesting to know what made you pick the Kaaz over the truetrac?vlad01 wrote:yes they recommended it over any of the other high end units out there. Should allow me to have better control over the rear and ability to put power down.

Nah, very early, like Ford Fairlane XE XD
I run 2.92:1 gears in the race car, they come from 1980's Fairlanes, last two I've stripped for the gears have been solids

I'm not talking about the crush tube, talking about the solid rings that go under the bearing
cups. They set the positions. The crush tube only sets the preload.

I'm the director of VSH (Vlad's Spec Holden), because HSV were doing it ass about.

Re: Vlad's rides thread
They said trutrac typically side swap when faced with unstable surfaces. Also they are inherently sloppy with tons of backlash which can cause them to break. They said they have have several failures on the internal worm gears. 0 failures for the kaaz for like 100 bucks more and much better torque control.ejukated wrote:Interesting to know what made you pick the Kaaz over the truetrac?vlad01 wrote:yes they recommended it over any of the other high end units out there. Re: Vlad's rides thread
I've stripped a couple of diffs and kept all the shims etc so should have what is required to get the right settings.
