Can 2 or 3 button keys be used to replace the 1 button VR

Post by Charlescrown »

I wonder if anyone knows if I can use a 2 or 3 button key to replace my 1 button on my VR Commodore key. Also is it possible to reprogram an old key?

1 - Yes, only one button will work though

2 - No

Thanks and bugger I have a couple of old keys around here I was hoping to reprogram. It's probably cheaper just to get a locksmith to cut and program one for me. I got quoted $80 which I think is reasonable considering the price of a new key on Ebay.

A Chinese locksmith is not likely to use a genuine key. From your experience are the aftermarket keys any good?
