The last V6.
Today was the last V6 to roll off the production line at Fishermans Bend.

Terrible thing when a country that was 1 of 7 that could design and build an entire car on its own no longer has a car industry.
We have let to much go in this country. We used to be self sufficient now we need others to supply us with our needs.

There is nothing wrong with globalisation. If there was no globalisation we wouldn't be able to sell our surplus products. I've got nothing against imports but I believe they should be a luxury not a necessity. When the local, and international, bosses of the auto makers kept telling us that our auto market is to diverse (to many manufacturers and models available) someone should have listened (John Button did but his plan was very poorly worked out and implemented) and stop so many new manufacturers selling their (often shonky) products here.
The problem is we, as a country, have fallen into the trap that cheaper = better. When other countries produce the same things we do for 1/4 of the price and, even when it lands here with freight costs etc added on, it is cheaper than our locally produced products people buy will it. We can't compete with that because our wages are so high (compared to other countries), our costs are high (again compared to other countries), the price of a home is so high (again compared to other countries), so we buy cheap imported products and eventually do ourselves out of jobs. It is a domino effect that is, now beyond, out of control. It will take a complete reboot of the way we think in this country to pull us out of the mess we have allowed ourselves to get in. Putting an Australian flag and writing "Made In Australia" on a product hasn't convinced Australian consumers that we need to support our own workers.
