IVe tried my hardest to crash one of these thing, BA-FG I cant crash one any O/S ect. i like the idea of a full flash tho 100% clone would make replacment ecus so much easier.
Rolls keep up the good work there iss a few of us watching the progress. will you have the ability to do real time scanning with your tuning program, and simple copy past tables?

They have been all calibration changes if Im not mistaken? Good to hear they are pretty much bullet proof with cal changes!

Its the OS change Im thinking of.. or a perfect 'clone' (Full write) which I think is the risky one if shit hits the fan. Be nice to recover them.

Do any of the major tuning companies have custom OS's for the Ford ECU's?

ive been trying full writes o/s and all, only thing that doesnt change is the embeded serial number. i can the location for you if needed. its the only thing that doesnt change

Hptuners have a mod to allow 3bar boost sensor, whilst it isn't a huge modification it is technically a custom OS.

If anyone has another spare bf /fg ecu I can test doing a full 100% write and confirm what will and won't brick it.

Don't really want to put it in the software until I've tested it personally myself as the last thing I want is people accidentally bricking a pcm.

if you have the file i can try put it on one of my ecus? will the Alpha release support that?

either HPT write entire or your setup rolls. Maybe i don't understand it well enough and have it wrong but i take the bin file from ECU #1 then put into a different ECU #2 that has a different (ASU) ABU) number- everything changes except the serial and the the ecu type details

Everything other detail moves for this particular including O/S except these details in this style ecu located at x0 EFFE

If you change these details in the hex editor and write, read again they always remain unchanged

I don't write anything before 0x10000 and neither does hpt afaik. What address is that string at?

I'll take a look when I can mate I'm pretty sure it was 0xEFFE.
Would you be able to write before Ox10000? That would make the perfect cloned ECU if you could? well software side anyway.

The phf files say that sectors are to be ignore during flash around that point so it might not be possible.

Like I said if someone has a spare pcm I'll give it a go, I don't want to put it in without testing myself though as there is a high chance it will brick it as the rtos is in those sectors.

Ive got one ill send ya to try on mate. I got a fair stash here. BA-BF ok? If you can do it to a BF i have a test setup i can try it on, see if thats what the pats links too.
