I reckon the worst engines for washing are the ford 4L, they fart and cough for a week with just a teaspoon worth spilt on them, such pussies.

Its a catch 22, risk an engine fire due to all the leaks from the rocker and timing covers and PS unit or not run at all after washing it.

yep, washed plenty of v6 and v8 in my life. i have a v8 4WD - it gets washed by default.

worst washes i ever saw - my best man washed his blue 202 in his VB/C/H/K mixalot - died and RACV
similarly with an old neighbour and his EFI VK 202. washed. dead.

a bit of common sense goes a LONG way. cover electrics in rags, plastic bags or whatever you see fit. and don't concentrate the high pressure jet on connectors or other things like valley gaskets and the like.

Even better when the coils are remote mounted away from the engine :)

jeezus. this is my fleet thread not freakin TOTs. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

so (thanks Tazzi) now for some SRS loving

Image

this seems odd and pretty all over the place.
i think the air sack might be fucked, but, the thing seems to be there, in that the steering wheel centre thing is all there, so, guessing, the air sack hasn't ejected.
pretensioner deployed might be drivers side as capacitance is marginally higher/as is resistance.

wouldn't mind peoples thoughts on this. given what big g said about the SRS control box of death under the centre console frying when anything airbag related goes bang, might be worth replacing. they are pretty inexpensive now, and, its the original one from the car as the last 6 digits of it are the same as the VIN of the car - and the car at some stage has had a bit of a tap at the front shown by my poorly fixed rad support panel.

That will be caused by a fucked clock spring.

Why do you want the airbags to work on a track car?
According to chemistry, alcohol is a solution...

thats my take too big g.
....for a few things i want to do it needs to be road registered (initially) which its almost ready for. later days the SRS and ABS will be disabled.
